Following Zero Traction V2, I decided to take a shot at my first featherweight. Competing at AVC 2018, this bot can be summed up as simply a learning experience.

The bot went 0-2,. First match I went against a low billet UHMW midcutter. The bot spun up to full speed, only to promptly stop working on the first hit. Turns out about 6 connectors came unplugged on this one hit - turns out you need to always tape, ziptie, and heatshrink all your connectors. I limped around until the other bot got their bot up to speed and managed to get a good blow to the side that severally bent the wedge and frame on the front of the bot.

After having an hour or two to fix the bot as much as possible, I got in the box for my 2nd match against Team Panic, who was competing with an angled overhead spinner. Unfortunately, when I got into the box, the weapon ESC randomly stopped working. To this day I’m not sure what happened, but we started to fight anyways, weaponless. He got a few half decent hits in until managing to rip my wedge off entirely, sending it straight through the pinata hanging up in the box, in spectacular fashion.
